Hi all, I was going to get on here and whinge about the hell week I had last week but have decided that life is full of bad things and winging so I am just going to take deep breathes and try and just let it all go, you all don't want to hear my crap any way I'm sure!
I will mention that we have all, except the very lucky Spencer, had a tummy bug. David had it first and probably the worst, he actually collapsed on our bedroom floor at about 5am and scared the living daylights out of me!!!!!! He was ok though luckily he missed the window but inches!!! Samantha had a very mild case, thank god, she couldn't take much being as tiny as she is, and I had a medium case of it as well. But we are all over that now.
I have also sprained the right ligament in my right knee. I did it weeks ago but you know just though I would let it get better by itself, but of course it didn't, so finally went to the Dr, on my 36th birthday of all days, and I am on anti-inflammatory pills. They worked a treat and the pain was all gone in about 4 days......until yesterday when we went to the river to cool down (yes summer has reared its ugly head again!!), and as I was taking a big step out of the river I felt this pain tear through my knee!, So we are starting from scratch again, but in more pain than I started with the first time!!
As I mentioned it was my birthday last week, not that I had such a great day. My highlights and what great highlights they were, were Spencer giving me breakfast in bed, wait for it......chocolate cake!!!! With a candle and singing "Happy Birthday" to me, what a treasure he can be!!!! And phone calls from my family in New Zealand. Davids family didn't try at all, that is all I am going to say!!! But David and my kids and my family made it a nice day.
Speaking of the chocolate cake Spen gave me for breakfast, I did a test run of our wedding cake....
It is the best cake I have ever made so moist and yummy! For the wedding I want to make a large round bottom layer with a smaller heart cake on the top. Decorated with a cream or gold ribbon around the bottom of each layer and a string of pearls and either sugar roses or real roses on the top and one or two sprinkled around the edges.
Speaking of roses, our rose bushes are loving the hot, dry weather (unlike me who is wilting more each day!). I picked some the other day and bought them inside, aren't the gorgeous...
Well I had better go now, catch up with you all soon.

Idjit! I wonder what that knee is trying to say ...
Those roses are gorgeous, are they perfumed as well?
Don't eat too many Easter eggs!
love & hugs, D.
